2022 Mr. Olympia Men’s Open Bodybuilding Results — Hadi Choopan Wins

At Joe Weider's 58th annual Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend on Saturday, December 18, 2022, Hadi Choopan defeated two-time Mr. Olympia Big Ramy and took home his first Mr. Olympia crown.

The 2022 Olympia Weekend was highlighted by the Men's Open division, which marked the start of Christmas for followers of bodybuilding. All throughout the season, seasoned athletes like four-time O champion Jay Cutler predicted that this year's show would rank among the best ever, and he was correct.

To the astonishment of many, Big Ramy was relegated to the right of the stage for the most of prejudging. Nick Walker, who had one of the most bizarre physiques on stage, was also posing a threat while Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford appeared to be competing for first place.

In the finals, Ramy was challenged by Nick Walker, Hadi Choopan, and Derek Lunsford, who each brought great individual posing routines. Hadi Choopan's energy was high in the last stance down, and he made an effort to draw as many parallels as he could.

By the conclusion of the night, Big Ramy had fallen all the way to fifth place after failing to successfully defend his title. Big Ramy was successfully deposed by "The Persian Wolf," with Derek Lunsford, a former 212-pound champion, taking second. 'The Mutant' came in third place and advanced two positions from the 2021 Olympia the previous year. Brandon Curry, meanwhile, finished the season in fourth place and showed off significant growth in size.
